Function & Design
This recce type ruck has a slightly shorter bag and frame than the EMR, but with many of the same features. It can still handle any multiple day load you throw at it with versatility and comfort. Better yet, Armor Grip™ (pat. pend) ensures those loads stay put over your body armor in the trickiest of situations.
As always, it sports great modularity, fantastic volume control, and like our other big packs, the ability to convert to a hauler.

Buy the AG2 as:
- a complete ruck (see how to convert your AG2 into a freight hauler, below)

Armor Grip™ (patent pending)
Your AG2 is equipped with our exclusive Armor Grip - the fastest, easiest way available to fuse your pack closer to your armor for rock solid stability. Torso pads on Armor Grip frame do double duty as the Armor Grip, and is so stealthy and simple, you won't even know it's there. Better yet, it deploys quickly, fits most body armor out there and keeps the pack load close to your body for great stability - no side to side sway.

Removable Duplex Frame
The Duplex frame earns its name with its ability to convert to a comfortable, very capable freight hauler. Simply slide it right out of the body, add your shoulder straps, waistbelt and an optional CargoChair, and you can haul out any load you're able to lift. There is no weight limit to these frames!

Order this pack with either traditional aluminum or Kifaru Ultralight composite stays.

back profile

Your pack will come with aluminum stays unless you opt for our composite stays. Our composite stays maximize weight savings and are ideal for a normally contoured back. Add $40.00 for this upgrade.

Folks with will "flat back" anatomoy need to stick with aluminum.

Removable Waistbelt.
Years of ergonomic studies have culminated in our Duplex Belt. Anatomically correct, it keeps weight off hip bone points and alleviates hot spots. It is also the only belt capable of comfortably handling the loads these packs command. Unlike many of our smaller packs, DuPlex frame packs must use a waistbelt, and are not designed to be used in conjunction with a butt pack.

"For anybody who wears armor, Armor Grip is ABSOLUTELY the way to go. I was skeptical, so I brought my CIRAS to the demo (Large Carrier, Large PPI BALCS IIIA soft panels, XL E-SAPIs with Side SAPIs). Mel eyeballed the fit (he's like a Hong Kong Tailor that way), put some weight in and we strapped the pack on. The fit was as good as any Kifaru pack, and the waist belt worked as well as ever. I went for a trot around the Demo site, jumped around a bit and even did a drop or two into the prone. The pack never budged. I did all this WITHOUT my war belt (in my case a heavily-laden Crye Blast Belt--configured for dismounted Instructor/O-C/RSO duties--with suspenders). Over Mel's protest, I put my belt on and put the pack back on. Even with my "hot mess" of a war belt, the AG worked just as well, at least for short/medium duration dismounted movements. For long moves, a better solution may be to refine the war belt load to ensure that the AG's Hip Belt can do its job, or move essentials from the war belt to MOLLE pouches on the AG's belt and stow the belt in the pack or in a Pod). For those concerned that the "smallest" pack available in an Armor Grip is Navigator-sized, it's worth noting that the AG Hauler frame is small and light, and has attachment points for an E&E, a Claymore and a CLS bag or Pod for a compact, modular, customized, mission-specific setup. Short story long, the AG is typical of the thought that the folks at Kifaru put into everything they do."
