BREAKTHROUGH:  COMFORTABLE ULTRALIGHTS. True to our heritage, the Kifaru Ultralight (KU) series delivers superior  comfort, foremost, and still achieves low-end weight in the ultralight market.  Our KU packs use the very same suspension systems as our renowned standard packs, in an ultralight format.  They handle extremely heavy loads in comfort, which ensures new-departure levels of comfort for lesser loads as encountered by fast packers and general backpackers.  And why not?!  Comfort is critical to efficiency.  Eleven years in the making, these packs out-perform ANY pack (except our own standard weight packs, which they equal) no matter the weight, while saving you very significant chassis weight.  A great deal all around.  And they have all of the multifunction and modularity you’ve come to expect from Kifaru.  You’ll find all the add-on pockets and PODS and so forth, in ultralight form.  You give up nothing…except a LOT of weight.

Construction and Materials.   Our KU packs are constructed of two layers of our proprietary micro-weight tipi fabric, which has withstood sustained testing over eleven years.  The outer layer is a subdued (we stress function over eye candy) Coyote Brown color.  The inner layer is white—for visibility.  The packs are zipperless—for longevity and weight savings.  The webbing and buckles are lightweight but durable. Cordura armors the bottoms.
The stays are revolutionary: ultralight yet strong for proper load transfer AND available in different lengths for precise fit.

Our lineup also includes KU pockets, PODS, Grab-it and stuff sacks to provide the same efficient enhancement as our standard packs, at greatly reduced weight. They work to perfection.
All standard Hunting Division waistbelt-mounted accessories (GunBearers and Possibles Pouches) will work on the KU packs.

There are loads of ultralight packs on the market for those who like to go minimalist. Our focus is on bringing new departure levels of comfort to the equation.

Warranty
• These packs WILL carry heavy loads comfortably.  They WILL stand up to normal (not just "careful") use.  They WILL last a very long time.  They are "tough enough" to get the job done well.  You don't have to baby them.  But they are not "bullet proof" in the way our Cordura packs are--they can't be and be this lightweight.  Small abrasions and tears do not compromise the pack's integrity.  Such blemishes can easily be left alone or, if you prefer, covered with a dab of silicone gel from the hardware store.  We will repair real damage at reasonable rates IF you manage to damage your KU pack.  Don't expect to though.  Of course any problem with workmanship is fully our responsibility.
• Problems associated with normal wear or abuse will mean a reasonable repair or replacement charge. Any returned goods MUST be clean, and free of grit, blood, etc., or you will be charged an appropriate cleaning fee
• All Kifaru gear comes with a  guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship. Should they ever fail to provide satisfaction because of defects in materials or workmanship, we will repair or replace at no cost to you.

KU5200 Precision Lift Plus System
Two stay lengths available: 24" and 26"

24 inch stays
The KU5200 will easily carry 100+ pound loads. Of course you don't have to carry that much - the pack will feel wonderful with typical full boat backpack loads which will not be nearly that much. Still, that can be 60 pounds if the trip is long - select the 24 inch stays if you are around 6 ft. tall or less.

26 inch stays
This length will accommodate men well beyond 6'6". It is also the length you'll want if you anticipate carrying seriously heavy loads and are somewhat shorter than 6'6", and if you are close to that and have a long torso. As always, if in doubt, select the longer stay.

When in doubt with borderline cases, specify the longer stays.

For proper fit, we ask that you send us your height, waist size and inseam length from your pant's size. This allows us to determine shoulder strap setup and proper sized waistbelt.

Video to come. Please refer to these video instructions for now.

Fit a Kifaru Duplex Pack, Part 2 of 2 (fine tune the fit)

The Basics: Kifaru packs are designed to put all or most of the weight on your hips, not your shoulders. DO NOT tighten the shoulder straps.
Remember: very tight waistbelt, nearly "loose" shoulder straps.
