This is the fastest, most fluid way to  dock, lock, and compress our KU Pockets onto you KU pack. With a single stroke, you can pop the pouch or pocket off and charge with just the necessities. The D&L's compression/attachment system compacts and stabilizes the pocket  for a rock solid, "sewn-on" feel.

A matrix of attachment points let you quickly swap out any pockets by simply clicking out, clicking in (KU3700 shown).

We invented this proprietary system some years ago for affixing accessory pockets and “PODS” and other useful accessories to our military packs. It is fast, very fast at attaching and detaching these items and has the special added benefit of compressing the item, and it’s contents while at the same time securely anchoring it to the host pack (or larger accessory). That’s actually better than a sewn-on pocket, which allows contents to rattle around inside and adds permanently to carry weight—whether you “need” the permanent pocket or not. You have the option of taking our pockets along, or not. Also, you have the ability to detach the pocket and use it for some other purpose on the same trip—like detaching your E&E Pouch or Koala and day-tripping out of camp instead of toting the whole pack, sewn-on pockets and all. (We should comment at this point, perhaps, our solution to the age-old argument re permanent pockets for “organizing”. In point of fact, our optional approach to pockets accomplishes the very same thing, except that you get to decide how many “organizing” pockets to take, depending on the trip.   kupok

Take a look at our PullOuts while you're visiting here. They are an innovative upgrade to the old “stuff sacks” for organizing INSIDE your pack. They can even be attached—at one end—to the inside of all our packs at the Chamber Pocket location, so technically they could qualify under this discussion—but as they are also intended to ride freely inside the pack (and inside each other) we’ll leave them out.
The original D&L system is based on 1” webbing and Quick Attach female side release buckles. Our KU series of packs use ¾” webbing for obvious weight savings. No Quick Attach buckles exist for ¾” webbing, so we’ve created a new attachment system that accomplishes the same task. It uses combination of ¾” side release buckle and three-bar slider that connects to a designated common loop. The “designated” common loops locations are plentiful on on the “host” items (both packs and some pockets) so there are many, many options Dock & Locking accessories with this new KU version of the system.
NOTE: because of the different webbing widths the KU D&L system and the older standard D&L system are not compatible. Standard D&L items will not work on KU D&L items and vice-versa.

There are excellent KU Dock & Lock items to expand the utility of your KU selections.
