LongHunter

Canadian outdoor writer, Ian McMurchy hunted with Master Guide Wayne Woods in early June of 2004 on the Copper River north of Cordova, Alaska. Early morning of the tenth day this huge boar and a large sow where spotted running towards the tents. Needless to say, some frantic action took place as neither Ian nor the guides had rifles ready. Ian shot a 350 grain Swift A-Frame bullet from his .416 magnum, flattening the on-coming boar in his tracks. He then fired a second shot for insurance and the big boar never moved again. Ian used his Longhunter Outfitter throughout the Alaskan hunt, and he states that it is the optimum pack for an extended wilderness hunt. "This pack is completely comfortable and it carries about any load that a hunter could require. " said Ian upon returning with his ten-foot plus Brownie.

"Hi Patrick,
Seems as though I am getting in a yearly  habit of sending you a  thank you note so here I go again. I talked with you earlier this year at  the RMEF spike camp in Albuquerque and told you how I got a doe at 240 yards last year with my .375JDJ Contender and used your pack to pack her out. I had success again this year from the same spot, again with my .375JDJ but this time it was a cow elk from 160 yards. I used your great and glorious pack to do the job. I love that pack! I use the handgun pouch for hands free hunting and I also have room for my optics and rangefinder up front and close as well. I was sitting in the chair mode both  last year and this when  I took my shots. When I packed out both the elk and deer I had no load shift and the pack held up well. WHAT A SUPER PRODUCT! I  never regret buying that piece of equipment. Thank you so much Patrick!"

Hello.  After much research I purchased, or more correctly, my wife purchased for me at Christmas a long hunter pack.  I was skeptical about going to an internal frame pack due to stories that you can't carry as much and so on.  However, after using it for spring bear hunting I found that our  research was correct.  1. It is definitely quieter than my other packs, that's important when it comes to hunting. 2. I  packed out a bear down the mountain this week that squared 5' 9".  I brought out the bones, hide, head and all in one pack load.  It was the most comfortable pack that I ever had the pleasure of overloading.  And the myth that you can't carry as much in an internal frame has been shattered in my mind.  I guess the people that don't think that internal frame packs are as versatile as external frames  have not experienced a high quality pack such as  yours.
Thank you

> Good Morning Folks;
> This past summer I purchased a Long Hunter Pack with cargo chair.  I just returned from a 12 day hunt here in remote Alaska for Caribou.  We did well, got three animals, and only had to pack them about a mile. The pack and cargo chair is outstanding, worked well, by both design and execution.  I was able to carry about 3/4 of a Caribou at a time with no problem, it was heavy, but worked well.
All in all the pack and system is great, keep up the great work!!!!!
I am buying a Tipi next!

Patrick, I have finally gotten time to drop you this e mail.  I have
torture tested the Prototype Longhunter Guide pack over the last 3
seasons guiding in Alaska and loaning it to a couple of the gorillas
that work for us in the Alaska Range.  I have packed loads that are HUGE
with the best in comfort and no failures!  1/2 of a caribou in the bag,
bones and all with the antlers on the outside, plus 30 pounds of hunting
gear is a common load for me.  At 6'2' and 190 pounds I have had some
trouble with fit in the past.  No more!  your system is the best I have
ever carried.  I was going through a pack every 1 1/2  to 2 years even
with lot's of maintenance.  Yours has held up for 3 years with flawless
performance.  We are recommending your packs to all of our hunters.
Thanks again for the great packs and super service.  I have a couple of
photos of the gear in use.  Let me know the format you prefer and I will
send them down  Good Hunting, Jeff Pralle, Alaska Guide #128
