The nuts and bolts of our Packs.

Our Guarantee

Craftsmanship
Every Kifaru Trophy Series pack is individually hand-crafted here in Colorado by proud American workers, using only American-made materials. Every seam is double stitched and taped for durability and waterproofing. Every stress point has six stitch lines or bartacks.

Internal Frame
Every Kifaru pack has an internal aluminum frame made with aircraft grade aluminum. This stabilizes heavy loads, and transfers weight comfortably to your hips via the contoured waist belt. Unlike external frames, ours won't bend or crack under extreme loads - and they won't bang up your rifle or knock off your scope alignment. The greatest contribution, however, is the incredible comfort you get from the contours that move naturally with you!

Suspension
The heart of any Kifaru pack is a suspension (frame, waistbelt and shoulder straps) that is sculpted and contoured to your body. Many packs let you haul massive amounts of gear. Kifaru packs let you hunt with your gear quietly and in perfect comfort. You go further, hunt harder and longer with less fatigue.
Note: LongHunter waistbelts are removable, so you can swap belts to custom fit different users - longer or shorter belts, or even a women's belt!

Materials
Our backpacks use the same, rugged materials used in professional mountaineering packs.
500 Denier Cordura. Our packs are crafted of 500 D Cordura pack cloth. This material has been used in mountaineering packs for decades and has proven to be lightweight, extremely durable and water resistant. It is, however, noisy - which is why we cover critical areas with two layers of silent fleece.
Drilex. This is used on the facing of our shoulder straps, and the back of the LongHunter. It wicks away sweat from your body for greater comfort.
Hypalon.
This material is the same rugged stuff used in the construction of whitewater rafts. It is puncture and abrasion resistant, and the reason we use it as skid pads on our Safari Duffels!
Zippers. We use big, beefy Number Tens to prevent jamming, and always slide easily, even with mittens on.

Care & feeding of your pack
To maximize the performance and appearance of your pack:
- Never machine wash your pack - the agitation can damage the waterproof coating! To clean, simply sponge bathe with some WooliteŽ and hang dry.
– Be sure to clean any organic materials, such as food or blood that might mildew during storage
- Never store your pack in direct sunlight, like a sunny window. The UV rays can eventually cause some of the color to fade.
