I have an Exstream bottle. It seems to work great. No problems. The water tastes a bit musty coming from the stream, but it's darn cold and not bad. No one has gotten any bugs from using it. I've tried it in about a half dozen streams so far, and perfect results. I've also got a PUR hiker. It works well, but the filter clogs easily. When it clogs, it gets much harder to work. For most hiking, for one, the bottle is the way to go. For a group, the pump is ok, but takes a long time to get a couple of gallons.
