I've used the Kick eez a couple of times. Once, a 7/8" on a 30/06. It was very effective but I didn't weigh it. Recently, I've installed one on on a Rem Titanium, this time it's the 5/8" thickness. After grinding to shape, it weighed about 4 oz. I think that this is about average for a 5/8" pad. BTW, the stock pad on the Rem. was a 7/8" unit that weighed 2.8 oz. this is the lightest pad of that thickness I've seen. The Rem. pad seemed pretty firm however, and I'm unsure of the cushionong. It seems to me that the sorbothane material is somewhat heavier than rubber, but that you may not need as thick a pad to get the cushion that you want.
