The two easiest questions I have gotten in a while. Make a disposable scope cover from an old inner tube. I found one on the highway. Cheap, works great, and if it falls off and you lose it, it cost nothing.
On the quiet water container, get the Platypus or Camelback bag. Patrick's packs have a pouch for it. The water sloshes in a canteen, but this design keeps it from sloshing. You draw the water from the tube and there's no air in the bag. An added benefit is little movement, and you don't ever take the bag out of the backpack. By far, the best way to carry water hunting quietly.
