The Siwash is specifically designed for mountain hunting in the sheep/goat style. This 4200 cubic inch pack  is spot-on for the man with modern, compact camp gear. Very slight profile too, since it's a lithe panel loader. Access is complete--just zip it wide open and rummage, it's all in plain view. Or access any nook by opening the quad zippers just where you want. Sleeping bag compartment has a barrier you can use...or not use if you need a top-to-bottom straight shot the whole length of the bag. The suspension system is a step up from the Late Season but still remarkably light  and compact. It will easily handle 85% of the load our state-of-the-art LongHunter will, and taller stays provide our Precision Lift™ to pull the weight off your shoulders.
Easy access with four zippers along the perimeter, and anchors top and bottom let you add our very utilitarian Pods and Dock & Lock Pockets.
To handle heavy hunting loads, we've sculpted the lumbar area to include our new PackLock™ grip system that fuses the pack load right to your body. If you have up-to-date gear and know-how this is the  long range pack you've been waiting for. It won't compete head-to-head with the  mighty LongHunter but for "those" kinds of trips--light, fast and far--it has no peer
.

Utterly silent Double Quiet polar fleece panels cover your pack in critical areas. They quickly remove, and are reversible, letting you change from the latest camoflage patterns to blaze orange.
Remove the panel entirely, and you have a classy hunter-green pack for skiing, backpacking or travel. Standard on all Kifaru packs and many accessories.

For the best comfort possible, we've sculpted an anatomically perfect carrying system. The waistbelt is lighter and more compact than any waistbelt ever built to tote heavy loads and yet move smoothly and quickly and with minimal bulk.

    The Power PullTM
Our exclusive Power Pull lets you bring the pack weight into your lumbar area with a forward pull - this mechanical advantage is much easier and more efficient than a rearward pull.

The Delta Strap System (patented). Utilizing a triangular pull, the System's four angled straps (from the waistbelt to pack bag) help take weight off your shoulders, and bring the load into your center of gravity - your lumbar area. Simply pull on the two straps - you'll immediately feel the whole bottom portion of the pack snug up into your lower back. This puts tension along the top and bottom of the belt, not through the center, in order to distribute pressure evenly over the belt and keep pressure off the hipbones. The Deltas also dramatically stabilize the load.

  A "Big Pack" fit
The Wrap Tech frame and suspension are designed to relieve the load off your shoulders and spread it over your back and lumbar area. Precision Lift™ lets you pull the weight off your shoulders.

This revolutionary device lets you carry bulky, awkward gear with incredible stability and comfort. It rides unobtrusively against the pack when not in use, and can interchange among all your Kifaru packs

Kifaru GunBearer®
A
ll Kifaru packs (even the smallest!) are equipped with the revolutionary GunBearer® - a simple, efficient way to securely carry your long gun, transferring the weight comfortably to your hips leaving both your hands free for climbing, bushwhacking, whatever. No more slings slipping off your shoulder, no more banged scopes. Originally invented for rambling in bear country, this is the safest, most comfortable way ever devised to carry your rifle and a backpack. Quicker than a shoulder sling, it's fast enough for wing shooting. With a flick of your wrist, your rifle or shotgun can be instantly shouldered for firing. Fully adjustable for any length rifle or shotgun, use it right or left handed, or remove it when you aren't packing a long gun.

Patrick:
I have been hunting for over 30 years in Oregon, Idaho, Colorado and Arizona for deer, javelina and elk.  Some of this terrain is in the Sonoran desert and some is in the FlatTop Mountains of Colorado at 10,000 feet.  Your pack makes carrying  sufficient supplies and a rifle or shotgun a breeze.  It fits great, is of very high quality as respects the materials and design. One of the neatest features is the built in sling to carry a weapon and leave your hands free to negotitiate the terrain.  Another feature I like is the reversible panels of blaze orange and camo for archery seasons as well as rifle/ shotgun seasons. Two packs for the price of one..... Another great feature is the built in compartment for a water bladder.  I use a 70 ounce Platypus type and it will last me for the whole day.  It is better than a canteen or Bota bottle because it does not make any noise, like canteens do when they are half empty.  Last year I hunted in SE Arizona for three days for Coues deer and it rained the whole time. (Yes, it does rain in Arizona.)
Your pack did not leak and is very comfortable even when worn ten hours a day.  I will buy another one if I ever wear this one out.  Thanks for building a great pack, it is worth every dollar I paid and more.
