This gear is crafted for our soldiers and hunters.They in turn, help us by trying to beat our gear to death in the most unhospitable situations imaginable. If your fully loaded pack can survive a fall from a helicopter, it'll do the trick on the trail. Rest assured, your shelter's ancestors cut their teeth in Nepal, Antarctica, the Yukon.

There are many lightweight, cheap fabrics out there. And sure, we could cut costs and the price to you. But in the long run, we wanted gear that held up to the demands of soldiers, through hikers and hunters - lightweight or not. It simply is not just a matter of a few ounces - want wouldn't put it out there if it were not up to Kifaru standards. We use only ultra high tenacity mil-spec American fabric - it is truly the best in the world of it's type.
We've been building our shelters from this fabric since 2002, and it has stood the test of time well enough to foray into other gear, namely our backpacks and sleeping bags.
Likewise, our stoves have the unique ability to provide life-saving heat, all in a backpackable size - another Kifaru invention that is oft copied, never duplicated.
