These high tech poncho liners are designed to replace the USGI poncho liner. The Kifaru Woobie & Doobie are MUCH warmer than a standard poncho liner. Our Climashield insulation is continuous filament - so strong that no quilting is needed. Plus, it has a better "feel" and draping capabilities - no quilting, so there are no cold spots. Coupled with our water resistant RhinoSkin Shell, you get immediate warmth and protection.
Same great stuff we use in our Regulator Sleeping Bag System.

Best yet, the Woobie & Doobie are very compressible due to the state of the art materials used.

Our Woobie G2 uses 2 oz. / square yard of insulation and the Doobie (Double Woobie) uses 4oz. square yard of insulation. Both are now nine inches longer than our previous Generation 1 Woobie. Not just a poncho liner, you can also use them as a sleeping bag liner or ground cloth (for two) as well.

Colors: OD on one side, foliage green on the other
Woobie G2 Weight: 1 lb., 8 oz. (vs. 1lb 12.8oz for a new issue standard poncho liner).

Climashield Combat Insulation is proven to be warmer, lighter and stretch better than any competitive product, and has all the properties we were looking for in an insulation.

It is a continuous filament fiber synthetic with thousands of polyester strands that spread into a naturally interlocking insulation. This stability means no heavy shell is needed, letting us cut weight and bulk dramatically.

It is very compressable, very thermally efficient, and does not need to be quilted, laminated, or glued to the shell fabric. It also has excellent drape, allowing it to conform naturally around the body. It’s also breathable - moisture is released from your body and not trapped, avoiding a clammy feel. You get warmth, even in wet conditions.

Other benefits include:
- highest thermal efficiency possible
- water resistant
- fast drying
- no fiber migration
- Berry Ammendment Compliant version of their XP insulation

The results of extensive and repeated laboratory and field comparison testing by the US Army Natick research center have made continuous filament the only choice for 15 years.

The shell material used in all of our clothing and sleeping bags is a proprietary fabric called RhinoSkin™ - an ultralightweight ripstop fabric that is only .9oz sq yd, and comes with a DWR coating. It is a little lighter than Pertex Quantum, yet was proven 2-3 times more puncture proof and tear resistant in testing. Foliage Green on the outside, Camo Green 483 on the inside.

Small, low profile loops of paracord allow for multiple attachment options. No more dangling cords!

These featherweight sacks cut bulk and weight, and are exceptionally effective at compressing large bags and components into manageable packages.

Instead of bulky webbing to compress, we utilize cordage to do the heavy compression work. Line Locs serve as your cam - no more big buckles, either!

"..... nights were probably in the mid to low 50's by morning. I started the nights with the Woobie wrapped under me, and only half over me, by morning I had it completely around me. I was easily as comfortable, as I am in a light summer bag in comparable temps, and it works better in a hammock than a bag. With some warmer clothes on I think I could go into the 40's pretty easily. My wife is a little warmer sleeper than me and I didn’t here one peep out of her that sounded like a complaint.

What has been said about the "soft hand" or "drape" of the material is true. It does a good job of conforming to your shape, and by doing that, it cuts out many of the cold spots. Also, another benefit is that I think by putting it inside my 15 deg WM bag it will add considerable warmth on really cold nights, even though around her that’s not much of a problem. I still like the idea of being able to push it into cooler temp ranges if needed comfortably. I know it is expensive, but in my opinion it’s worth it.

BTW: FWIW, my wife who is not a big-time camper, and this being her first try at hammock camping, absolutely loved the Woobie I got her. I detected some attachment on her part to her new Woobie. She repeatedly reminded me to make sure I loaded them up and brought them in the house after me got home. She wanted to make sure I stored them correctly and that nothing could get at them. And she doesn’t even know how much they cost.
